Unfortunately we needed to cancel the fireworks, though the band played on!
Unfortunately, we needed to cancel the fireworks on the 4th due to inclement weather.
In a cancel scenario, the 4th of July committee stores the fireworks with our vendor for next year. That said, due to popular demand, we discussed the feasibility of a rescheduled 2022 date at our last committee meeting. Unfortunately, it is not feasible this year to have a make up date.
The only place in Glendale that can be used for fireworks is Kletzsch Park, so rescheduling requires coordinating with Milwaukee County Parks to reserve the park, the City of Glendale’s Department of Public Works to reinstall the safety fencing, the Glendale Police Department to block roads and provide public safety, and Northshore Fire Rescue to be on standby. Volunteers will also be needed for setup and take down, and our fireworks vendor will need to be re-contracted and transport the fireworks from our distributor in Green Bay. You can image this comes at significant added cost that is not budgeted. We will be exploring the feasibility of having a single day delay next year if weather again takes a turn for the worse.
We invite everyone to next years event where we hope to delight you with a spectacular fireworks show.
